JUNIOR CAMPUS

Car Park

It is wonderful to have our students back to school. It is also timely to remind parents, guardians and grandparents, who use the car park at the Junior Campus, of the following rules and expectations to ensure the safety of everyone who is using this space.

• Please remember that the car park is a shared car and pedestrian zone - all vehicles must adhere to the 5km speed limit.

If using the 'DROP & GO' zone, please take note of the following requirements:

• Students to alight from the vehicle on the left-hand side only onto the footpath.

• Drivers must remain in the car. Students who use the Drop & Go zone must be capable of getting in and out of the car by themselves, including putting on their seatbelt. If they are not able to do so, parents will need to park in a designated car space and assist them.

• School bags should be in the car and not retrieved/placed in the boot. Bags need to be in the car with the students so that they do not have to go behind or in between cars.

• Teardrop flags clearly mark the allocated zone - students are not to enter or leave cars which are waiting in line to use the zone. Please be patient and wait until you are safely parked in the zone.

• Please ensure you have your handbrake on once you have pulled into the zone and stopped.

• Staff supervision will be present at the start and end of each day

• All families and students who park and walk into school please only use the pathways and crossing which are provided.

It is important that all car park users are aware of these rules and expectations to ensure a safe environment for our students and families.

We would also like to remind families to utilise the school crossing on Roslyn Avenue.

Parent/Guardian drop off & collections into classrooms

Thank you for your support of the various COVID induced health regulations that we need to maintain this year. Parents and guardians are allowed into classrooms at the Junior Campus for drop off at the commencement of each day. If you stay for more than a minute or two, we need to keep a record of your name and address in case of future records health tracing. Therefore, we ask you to limit the time in classrooms at drop off. Please come in and settle your child, greet your teacher and look briefly at work they have completed.

Afternoon protocols will remain the same as for last year, parents to wait at the end of the blue carpet, on the grassed area behind SOCC or outside Grade 3 & 4. If your child is in P-2, they will be brought along the blue carpet at the end of the day. Kindergarten parents may gather quietly outside the Kinder classrooms at the bottom end of the blue carpet, just prior to the end of the day.

Parents and guardians are also requested to avoid lingering/chatting outside of around school buildings. Please avoid being at the College if you are unwell as far as possible and maintain the usual hand washing and social distancing protocols.
