Grade 3 - 6 All Schools Cross Country Carnival

On Tuesday, 22^nd June 32 students from our College Cross Country team travelled to Symmons Plains for the All Schools Cross Country Carnival. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the only statewide carnival on the calendar. Each race had approximately 250 competitors.

Congratulations to the whole team on your wonderful efforts and in particular to 10-year-old girls and 12-year-old boys who won the bronze medal in their age group. An outstanding achievement!

Grade 7 - 10 All Schools Cross Country Carnival

On Wednesday, 29th June, the selected Cross Country team travelled to Symmons Plains to compete at the All Schools Cross Country Carnival. The conditions were cold and overcast but this did not stop our students as they embraced the opportunity and gave their very best effort on the course. With a mass start, the students left the mark quickly to ensure they had the best position for the race. A wonderful effort from every individual on this day. The students made the College proud with their sportsmanship and persistence on the track. Honourable mentions from the event include:

Jasper Brereton- 4th place

Metasebia Duggan- 7th place

These students received a letter from Athletics Tasmania inviting them to participate in the selection for the Australian Cross-Country Championships to be held in Adelaide later this year. A fantastic achievement!

Basketball

Congratulations to the SACC Cyclones who won the Kingborough Huon Basketball Association grand final last term. The final score was 33 - 26, well done!
