The Explorers
Exploring Gymnastics in Term 2

In 2018, the school was badly impacted, like many homes and businesses, by heavy rains and flooding. Most of the repairs that were made have fixed flooding issues, but unfortunately during the last big rain event, some of the Junior Campus was flooded again. Thankfully, the school has been able to find the cause, and, once repairs are made, these spaces should not flood in the future.
During the first floods, the Kingborough Gymnastics centre was kind enough to accomodate our SETUP for Success 'Explorers' Birth to 5 program, for the entire term. This time around, the Kingborough Gymnastics have rescued us again! We have been running our weekly sessions for most of the term.
We are so incredibly grateful to Gymnastics, for fitting us in around already existing bookings. It has rained for so much of this term and we have been safely tucked up inside the gym centre. Our Explorers have been able to run off all their inside energy, build their gross motor skills and strength, and continue to make friendships with other families.
The Year 9/10 Early Childhood elective class have been able to attend a couple of sessions. The students have loved being able to support the Explorers children in their play, and the parents have enjoyed having their helping hands. Many parents have asked if the Year 9/10 students could come every week!
We are so glad our Explorers community has been able to continue to meet and grow. We will provide further updates on our Term 3 location, toward the end of the school holidays.
